We popped down to Arnolfini in Bristol last night for a lovely evening of ’15 minute profiles’ of four brilliant British illustrators, including the super talented John McFaul and Paul Davis. Inspiring stuff for students and freelancers alike, it was refreshing to listen to their brief insights into the world of illustration, and the highs and lows of commerical work.

The evenings highlights included live drawing by Simon Splisbury and Adrian Johnson’s witty anecdotes on drawing what he loves most (knights and mexicans) to keep his ideas fresh. An exhibition of their work is now on show at Mauger Modern Art in Bath until March 16th. Featuring the work of Noma Bar, Paul Davies, Adrian Johnson, John McFaul and Simon Splisbury. Not to be missed!
