BLA BLA : An Interactive Tale

BLA BLA is a film for computer by Vincent Morisset, a 'web-friendly' director and story teller.

Seeking to reimagine ‘once upon a time’ for the digital age and take the viewer on a journey through the different aspects of human communication, the project explores the grammar of a new medium whilst tapping into themes of human nature such as a fear of the unknown and the love of being taken by the hand.

I am inspired by projects that feel free aesthetically. I wanted BLA BLA to feel handmade, imperfect, fragile, so we forget the technology.

With BLA BLA, all the story telling power is given to the viewer, without him or her, the story would not develop and the characters would stay motionless. You are able to change moods, alter atmospheres, slow time, duplicate characters and so much more, all with the click of a mouse.

With it’s endless possibilities, this is a video you will want to play over and over.

And it is not just Morriset’s clever direction you will be going back for but the beautifully uncluttered setting and complex yet endearing characters created by Caroline Robert. Add in the brilliant soundtrack which Phillipe Lambert used “controlled randomness” to create and you have a uniquely experimental and oddly addictive piece which you cannot help but be charmed by.
