We Like: Italian product brand Clodomiro
Playful, cheeky and a little naughty Clodomiro offers statement accessories and clothing designed by Milan based illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli.
A collaboration between father and daughter Miro Zagnoli and Olimpia Zagnoli, Clodmiro is described as “everyday objects with an erotic taste” and stocks a range of designer pieces and products featuring subtle and bold graphic depictions of characters, human anatomy, phallic symbols and nude figures – applied to everything from t-shirts to scarfs, plates and prints.
Based in Milan, Olympia has carved out a niche as a professopnal illustrators for over 8 years. Her colourful and charming style has appeared in The New Yorker and New York Times, and in publishing, including reimagining the Wizard of Oz released in 2016. As you might expect, her father’s career has been slightly longer. Miro (short for Clodomiro, taken as the name for the brand) first picked up a camera in the 1970s and has been working across photography, design and fine art ever since.
“Family run” and “erotic” aren’t two words which tend to go together – yet for Clodomiro, the fact that it is a creative partnership of father-daughter behind the brand adds to the intrigue and controversy.
The story behind this partnership is revealed on their Instagram account which not only documents their daily inspirations, and chance encounters with erotic imagery – it’s fascinating to observe how much of it they stumble across. From nude statues to architectural plans, it turns out erotic design inspiration really is all around us.
