Editorial and fashion illustrator Vivian Shih

Since graduating in 2013 from the California Art Center College of Design with a BFA in Illustration, Los Angeles based illustrator Vivian Shih has specialised largely in editorial illustration.

Work in progress in her studio

“I take progress photos of every project I work on”, reveals Vivian. “I start with super rough sketches, moving onto a second round of tighter sketches, before beginning the final work.”

Strong women and cultural leaders feature prominently; frequently referencing subjects and topics of particular importance to her. A staunch environmentalist, Shih has been commissioned by Audible, Broadly, Eggslut, NPR, UNDO and Google to name a few.
