Featured Artist: Hattie Stewart

Eye-popping, surreal and more than a little cheeky, Hattie Stewart is known for her quirky, slightly sinister illustrations, covering everything from clothing to book covers, concrete walls to found objects and everything inbetween.

Her talent for defacing and doodling on magazine covers (Vogue, Company, I:D and Playboy to name a few) has already won her a steady stream of fans in the fashion industry, with notable collaborations for House of Holland, Diesel, Adidas and Urban Outfitters.

I’ve always been a doodler and have loved drawing from a young age, I never grew out of it, it just grew itself. My work has always had sinister and dark undertones – I like it that way, keeps it interesting and stops it from ever getting “cute”.

Back in 2011, Hattie collaborated with Inkygoodness on our Character Totem project; an exhibition of illustrated totem poles vby international artists and designers, as part of the Pictoplasma Character Walk.

Hattie has spent much of 2013 travelling around for various project, including a stint in L.A to launch her new t-shirt line with Urban Outfitters, and painting walls in Bangkok for BUKRUK Street Art Festival (above) alongside the likes of Amandine Urruty and LowBros. Luckily for us, she also found time to design up a set of Beermat Characters for our latest project – and they’re very cool indeed. Created entirely with fluro Posca Pens, ‘Hello Cheeky‘ is Hattie at her best, and we have no doubt that there will be an army of visitors queuing up to get their hands on them!
