We Like: Ohh Deer’s Pillow Fight
Ohh Deer’s annual cushion competition invites artists to fight it out for a chance to become the latest contributor to the brand.
Each year, Ohh Deer invite artists from around the world to battle it out in their annual pillow fight. And this year, there are more prizes than ever before. Not only are entrants in with the chance of becoming the latest contributor to the brand but there are also cash prizes for the designs which get the most votes from the public. Plus, entrants can earn money if they sell cushions whilst the competition runs.
Before entering any competition run by an established brand, it is always a good idea to have a look at their existing ranges. Handily, Ohh Deer dropped a whole new cushion collection a few week before the fight started. To help do so, they enlisted the help of illustrators including JacquelineColley and NinaCosford.
The new collection shows what a visually diverse brand Ohh Deer is. Having no specific style in mind makes for an even more open and exciting competition!

Since it’s launch, the competition has inspired some brilliant entries from some of our favourite illustrators as well as lesser known creatives. Below are a few of our favourite entries:
Ohh Deer are perhaps best know for selling stationery and homeware covered in puns so we can only imagine they will be a fan of this Frida Catlo design by Niaski.
Whilst quirky by nature, Ohh Deer does have a sophisticated side too. This intricately detailed entry by Abi Overland would fit in perfectly with the more elegant side of the brand.
Sometimes all an interior needs is a bold splash of texture. Estera Rezar‘s bold, monochrome design would add just that.
Finally, this Bosom cushion designed by Roza Hamta fits right in with Ohh Deer’s cheeky sense of humour.
