Playful geometric patterns and vintage style by Leslie David

French designer, illustrator and art director Leslie David epitomises what it means to be a true modern day polymath.

Leslie David is one of those rare individuals that truly encapsulates what it means to be able to adapt, and continually shift creative focus, yet still remain able to retain a sense of visual identity that is unique and authentic to her alone.

She launched her (small) multidisciplinary creative studio in Paris 7 years ago with a strong focus on visual thinking and design in the field of fashion, beauty, art, music and culture (mainly but not only ).

Whether Leslie is working in fashion or beauty, film or music, branding or logo / type, her contemporary style and approach is easily recognisable. Often encompassing a with subtle historical references, she has a somewhat vintage sense of artistry that compliments an elegant, gestural minimalism, found throughout the work she has undertaken for clients ranging from Adidas. Chanel, Hennessy and Givenchy.

We were especially drawn to her Leslie’s recent animated collage for the relaunch of the Adidas Gazelle (below) a fantastically quirky, retro mash-up, combing old-school imagery and contemporary illustration.

Leslie works on personal projects, exhibitions and artistic collaborations whenever possible, and is also the co-founder with Pedro Winter, Justine Valletoux et Antoine Lampérière of Stéréokids, a music festival for kids.
