Weekly Wishlist: Illustrated Tees
This week's wishlist is all about bringing art into your wardrobe through illustrated tees!
Our weekly wishlist series is all about working illustration into each aspect of your life whilst supporting independent artists at the same time. This week’s is another fashion-focused list. Illustrators have long been applying their designs to tees. Buying them is a brilliant way to add a talking point into your wardrobe and show support for your favourite creators at the same time. Here are 7 of our favourites…
Eyes t-shirt by Risotto (£25)
Risotto is a Glasgow based risography printing press. They sell a selection of prints and apparel in their online shop including some brilliant bold t-shirts. This graphic tee adds interest to any outfit with the addition of a few extra facial features.
Gemmo Correll “Nope” t-shirt by Ohh Deer (£9.95)
Coming in at under a tenner, the cheapest item in our round-up is this t-shirt by Gemma Correll for Ohh Deer. This one would make the perfect Monday outfit as the “nope” character sums up the feeling of being done with a week before it has even begun.
Abstract Tee by Poketo ($36)
Onto the simplest design in our round-up. This abstract design is made up of shapes inspired by the seaside. The design strikes a delicate balance between shape and colour to create a sleek tee.
“Loosen Your Neck” t-shirt by Andrew Rae (£19)
Andrew Rae runs a shop selling t-shirts filled with his many wondrous characters. Moonhead And The Music Machine is one of our favourite graphic novels so we love the idea of showing support for Joey Moonhead by wearing this top. It’s kind of like a classic band t-shirt with an illustrative twist.
Bear t-shirt by Sandra Dieckmann (£20)
As you will no doubt gather if you follow this weekly wishlist series, we would quite happily have Sandra Dieckmann’s illustration in every aspect of life. This tee is the cutest from her collection of apparel.
Get Big t-shirt by Pretty Broke (£24)
This Barry Beef Cake t-shirt is hand screen printed by the team at Pretty Broke, adding another personal touch to the design. The bright red ink makes the bold character all the more joyful.
Petal Pusher t-shirt by Lorenza Centi (£25)
Our final pick for this week is thie Petal Pusher t-shirt by Lorenza Centi. Made up of a few vector drawings and a patch of ombre, the tee has a minimal feel to it.
