Wijtze Valkema exhibition ‘Team ASAP’ in Utrecht

Crafting a style that is mid-century inspired, playful and mostly vector based, editorial illustrator Wijtze Valkema made a return to print for his recent solo show Team ASAP.

Launching earlier this month at popular venue Blackbird Coffee & Vintage in Utrecht, Team ASAP features a happy bunch of characters on bikes, dodging various road works, flat tyres, trains – even cows!

A plethora of two-colour riso prints, colourful postcards, and customised coffee cups (part of his on-going side project Drip for Drip) are up for grabs at the space until early October.

Known for his bold, quirky style has worked for a wide range of editorial clients such as Computer Arts, The Correspondent and WIRED, Wijtze has recently relaunched a brand new website to showcase his eye-catching portfolio of cover artwork, spot illustrations and more for both print and online.

Short, sweet and insightful statements sit amongst his work, offering further insight into his creative process, approach and ethos.
