Wild Fridays: [Neasden Control Centre]

Simon Wild checks out some new directions from UK based illustrator and artist Neasden Control Centre.

A multi-disciplinary illustrator and artist working across a broad spectrum of typography, Stephen Smith, a.k.a Neasden Control Centre produces installation, motion graphics and illustration.

Stephen’s work is full of  scribbles, printed matter, typography, digital collage and repetitive icons that all serve to build a unique and distinctive body of design.

With a graphic language that has been constantly evolving into new areas since he started Neasden Control Centre in 2000, he has worked for a diverse list of clients across the industry. A recent development is a dedicated blog of animated gifs in which graphics flash up on the screen at an electrifying pace. And it’s those graphics that lend themselves perfectly for personal and commercial projects.

If you are already aware of NCC then you probably know about Stephen’s collection of published books. Ideal for anyone serious about pushing the boundaries of multi-sourced image making, they’re well worth checking out!

Have a great weekend.
