Our third featured illustrator this week is recent Cardiff graduate Joanne Hawker, who enjoys working with pattern, design for print and packaging. “I always approach a new challenge with optimism and enthusiasm and love producing an aesthetically pleasing, yet highly original and appropriate piece of communication. Although my strengths lie predominantly in design for print, I am always eager to learn new skills and increase my knowledge and competence in the digital field of design”

Joanne participated in our first online project ‘Colour Me Totem’ earlier this year, submitting this colourful, quirky design entitled ‘Wawa’ (above). This illustration joined 25 of our shortlisted designs, adorning the walls of the Neurotitan Gallery in Berlin earlier this year, where our Character Totem project debuted on the Pictoplasma Character Walk.

Aswell as creating design and illustration work for a growing collection of clients, Joanne also runs a popular illustration blog Origami Chicken, showcasing illustration by her friends and people she admires. We’ve been featured on there too! Check it out here.
