Last weekend brought an end to our whistle-stop tour of the UK on our Inkygoodness Character Totem Live Draw Tour! For our final leg we headed North to Manchester for a special one-day event at Cord bar, collaborating with the talented crew behind The Publisher’s Club; Julian James (NewSugar), Dave Hughes (AMMO Magazine), Bec Brown (Blanket Magazine) & Gordon Reid (Middleboop).
Inkygoodness artists Matt Saunders, Fon the Pern, Robert Shadbolt, Toy Factory, Neil Keating & Moot kicked off the day’s activities, rolling up to Cord Bar with a stack of paint, pens, poscas, scissors & glue to bring their Totem characters to life!
We met some lovely people and had a lot of fun! The day was made all the more entertaining by watching artist Matt Saunders frantically sticking felt feathers to his Totem, right up to the final minutes!
The event also marked the launch of The Publisher’s Club first zine, featuring shortlisted illustrations & drawings inspired by the theme ‘Totummy’. Limited edition cover art was also produced by Stephen Chan, Simon Wild, Lesley Barnes and Daren Newman; screen printed live on the day in front of a growing audience by Manchester based one69a.
We were lucky to be joined by Robert Watson, who captured the day’s activities on his time lapse camera, with some lovely footage of artist Fon the Pern creating her Totem! Watch the full video here:
