The Jaunt is a new creative project curated by designer Jeroen Smeets (YOUR:OWN Agency, EIGHT Magazine).
Combining two of the best things in life – art and travel, The Jaunt sends artists and illustrators to new destinations to explore the world, find new inspiration and create a unique piece of art.
The project launched in April earlier this year, with the first trip taken by Rick Hedof who spent 3 days in Helskini soaking up the architecture, culture and people of the city.

Subsequent trips have seen artists travel to Portugal, Latvia and Scotland, each producing their own limited edition print – which have all sold out! For their upcoming trip, The Jaunt are sending illustrator Miss Lotion to Marrakesh in Morocco for an exotic escape, as Jeroen tells us; “There is no better way to step out of your comfort zone than by getting lost in the narrow and countless alleys that make up the heart of Marrakesh” An established graphic designer and illustrator, Miss Lotion is best known for her ‘character heavy’ work, colorful narratives and whimsical creatures – an exciting mix for a project such as this.

Throughout her trip, Miss Lotion will be sharing and documenting her travel experience on The Jaunt blog, to further entice people to buy her limited edition print – before it has been designed! As with previous ‘Jaunts’ prints are sold by pre-order only, to help the team behind the project fund the trip and the printing process on the artist’s return. It’s a risky prospect, but one that has paid off. Every single print to date has been a sell out.

Miss Lotion heads off to Marrakesh on 30th November – 4th December, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on what she get’s up. Stay tuned for an interview with Miss Lotion coming to the Inkygoodness blog very soon! Pre-order Miss Lotion’s screen print here.
