Something Good design festival announced

Something Good: An exciting new two day design festival including Morag Myerscough, Snask, Anthony Burrill and Wilfrid Wood comes to Bristol this October!

Something Good is the first of it’s kind in Bristol and promises to focus on creativity and the magic of the creative process – and the line-up is nothing short of awesome!

Something Good is a new design festival taking over Bristol this October. Held over two days (6-7th October), this unique design festival will include a day of exciting and inspiring creative talks across various disciplines, a Real Good after party and a full day of creative workshops.

Opening on Friday 6th October with a jam-packed day of talks by the mighty SnaskAnthony Burrill, Morag Myerscough, Trapped in Suburbia, Marta Veludo, Brendan Dawes, Wilfrid Wood and Gavin Strange – with the day hosted by founder and editor-in-chief of Intern Magazine, Alec Dudson.

Throughout the day attendees will hear stories and anecdotes by each speaker on how they got to where they are today, how they tackle challenging creative briefs, where they find inspiration and how they keep themselves stimulated outside of commercial work – designed to appeal to students and pro’s alike.

I always had this impression that Bristol was full of white people with dreadlocks doing poi and making ‘trip hop’ in weed soaked basements, but based on my time at thread I discovered a super enthusiastic, switched on creative community of amazing people.

London is guilty of dominating the design scene of the UK, but with events like thread this tide is changing. My experience of thread is a friendly crowd wanting to engage with all the speakers. I’d recommend checking it out whoever is speaking.
