Call for Submissions: Bingomation
London based animator & illustrator Hayley Akins got in touch to tell us about Bingomation, an online, collaborative project where bingo meets animation.
Bingomation is inviting illustrators, animators and designers to create a 5 second, looping GIF that visually represents the bingo nickname of a number.
It started as a silly idea that two of my animator friends and I had at work one day.
“We often find it easier to make personal work when we have a specific project and a deadline. We were talking about bingo and decided to make a series of animations based on bingo calls. So we made the website and we’re asking animators to submit their GIFs. We hope to make a film featuring all 90 numbers.”

To submit a GIF, first claim your number and you’ll have access to the Bingomation fruity colour palette and chunky font, as well as a handy guide if you need to brush up on your bingo lingo. You’ll then have a month to work on your GIF.
