Inkygoodness x IdN : IdN v23n1 Street Graphics

A special issue of IdN magazine, curated by Inkygoodness and produced in collaboration with IdN World, Hong Kong.

Taking inspiration from the rising trend of multi-disciplinary creative practice amongst contemporary street artists, IdN v23n1 Contemporary Street Graphics presents a cross-section of some 38 artists with diverse styles and unique artistic approaches to making work that seamlessly blends street art, image making and illustration.

We tracked down artists in no fewer than 24 cities in 16 countries who are applying their distinctive visual style to any surface then can find to explore their incredible and varied artwork. We posed questions to them about their ideas, creative processes and exceptional skills, moving smoothly between surfaces and applications, mixing street art with illustration, traditional print techniques with digital design and ins o doing forging sustainable and successful careers.

Whether out on the street, working in their studio or submerged in the middle of nowhere, these artists are at their most comfortable with s spray-can or pencil in hand, seated on the cups of creation.

Through their eyes and hands we experience their inventions, dreams, infinite worlds, characters and ideas. The life of an artist is one that many of us envy – it’s a route that combines travel, adventure, freedom; one that transcends culture, education, religion and politics.
