Bringing together colour-lovers from around the world, Candy Minimal has curated a feed with a joyful aesthetic.

Candy Minimal is a collaborative Instagram project which celebrates colour in all it’s rainbow glory. Aiming to showcase “the best eye candy on Instagram”, the carefully curated feed is (rather unsurprisingly, given the name) filled with candy colours and minimal compositions.

Minimal architecture and pastel tones are Candy Minimal staples.

Matt Crump describes himself as “50% unicorn, 100% man”

Anyone can submit to the project by tagging #candyminimal when sharing their photograph. Photographer Matt Crump is the founder of Candy Minimal and in charge of selecting which images make the cut. In his own Instagram bio, Matt describes himself as “50% unicorn, 100% man” so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he is all about the cheerful candy colours.

Within his own photography work, Matt aims to find and photograph the most colourful people and places in the world and Candy Minimal acts an extra space to explore this rainbow passion.

Candy Minimal shared this photo to show support to Las Vegas

Whilst the focus remains on candy-coloured fun, their is heart behind Candy Minimal too. After recent events in Las Vegas, Candy Minimal shared a post showing support for the city. Over on Matt’s Instagram, he shared a beautiful shot of a bridge captured in an array of pastel hues.  T The caption read “This is the world I visit in my head when this one gets too dark”.

I won’t let some psychopathic domestic terrorist keep me out of my favorite city. Instead, I feel even more compelled to go back and capture all the sparkling liveliness of Vegas.

This idea of a lighter world gives an insight into the more meaningful concept behind Candy Minimal. By bringing together beautiful and uplifting photography from around the world, Matt offers his over 130K followers a chance to escape to a much happier place when the real world gets too much.

  1. It’s too bad that my photo (the one used for the header of this article) wasn’t credited to me.
