Instagram Crush: Raymond Lemstra’s Crumbs

Instagram is quickly becoming our go-too app for a little escapism – and we’ll be documenting our pick of the best creative, playful and inspiring people to follow in a brand new series of posts.

Known for his abstract form of character design, Raymond Lemstra never fails to excite our eyes with the weird and wonderful species he conjures up. One of our highlights is his ever-growing family of stunningly-detailed, colourful creatures which he likes to call “Crumbs”.

Raymond populates his Instagram feed as his species grows, presenting each addition next to a pen, paintbrush or ruler to give a sense of scale and show off the incredible level of skill that goes into each artwork.

Reflecting on his unique mark making style, Raymond reveals that his seemingly intricate sections of crosshatching actually take far less time in comparison to simple line work.
