We Like: Andrea Wan

Illustrator and Visual Artist Andrea Wan was born in Hong Kong, raised in Vancouver and now lives and works in Berlin.
Graduating from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a degree in film making, her art is inspired by the subconscious and responses to her surroundings, re-imagining animals, people and ghosts within dream-like, emotional landscapes.

Working predominately in water colour, her work has been described as whimsical and surreal, documenting a personal visual journal with an intimate, narrative quality.


Themes like travelling and immigration are very common in her work – no surprise given that her life, so far, has seen her exposed to diverse cultures in China, Canada, Denmark and now Berlin.
