Wild Fridays: [A long time ago…]
Illustrator Simon Wild continues his ‘Wild Fridays’ column with a visit to a galaxy far far away.
Since it’s release in 1977, Star Wars has probably become the most adored, ridiculed, parodied, and written about science fiction/fantasy film in the entire galaxy. And there are few who could argue that it’s force remains as strong as ever in our popular culture to this day.
Well today is a special kind of Star Wars day. Sort of. The first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens hit the internet – the first glimpse into the Star Wars universe since 1999 when the trailer for Episode 1 The Phantom Menace became more successful than the less than celebrated film.
Actors in furry suits? A return to old school visual effects? Will the new movie be any good? There are of course more important things in this universe to be concerned about, but for today at least let us indulge in the magic of anticipation and celebrate the phenomenon that is Star Wars!
This week I have created a round up of images old and new, professional and fan made and of course the famous Japanese tuna fish commercial to celebrate the upcoming film.
