Creative Maker Sessions: Yukai Du – Wednesday 8th February | Tickets On Sale Now!
Yukai Du is a Chinese born animator and illustrator based in the UK.
Yukai’s inspiration for her work lies somewhere in the dichotomy of Impressionism, the dash of lines and layering of dots to create a surface, combined with a love for geometric shapes and playful vibrant patterns.
Join us on Wednesday 8th February as we hear the story of her journey into illustration; finding out more about her drawing techniques and creative process; unpacking her various client projects and personal work and unlock her secrets to building a successful career as a commercial artist.
About Yukai Du
Since she was an animation student in Guang Zhou Academy of Fine Arts, she found her passion in creating crafty illustration and animation digitally. Graduated from Central Saint Martins London in 2014, she has been exploring and establishing her work in both still and moving images with her unique style.
Yukai’s inspiration for her work lies somewhere in the dichotomy of Impressionism, the dash of lines and layering of dots to create a surface, combined with a love for geometric shapes and playful vibrant patterns.
Her clients include Adobe, Apple, WeTransfer, LUSH, the New Yorker, TED Talks etc. She also received a few international awards such as 3X3 Illustration Best of Show (Student Show), Adobe Design Award Honourable Mention and a D&AD New Blood Wood Pencil.
Last year she presented her first solo show ‘Fragments’ at Silk Gallery, Madrid.
Yukai is also one of three industry mentors joining us for Make Your Mark, our 10-week programme for illustrators running till April 2023.
We will invite questions from our attendees in advance of the session and choose a selection of the best to ask at the end of the talk. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear about Yukai’s journey so far and ask her questions about her creative process.
