Creative Makers: Emmy Lupin
We’re delighted to welcome Emmy Smith, the illustrator and creative force behind Emmy Lupin Studio, to lead an exclusive live masterclass for Design It, Make It, Sell It!
Based in Nottingham, Emmy took an unconventional path into illustration—starting out in advertising and working in design agencies for five years before pivoting to pursue her creative passion full-time. Today, she runs her own thriving studio, known for its bold, expressive and unapologetically playful style.
Her illustrations celebrate life through a female lens, bursting with vibrant colour, rich patterns and empowering storytelling. From prints to stationery and gifts, Emmy’s work is instantly recognisable—and built on a brand that resonates deeply with her audience.
Creative Makers: Mélanie Johnsson
Mélanie (Mel) Johnsson is a French illustrator and graphic designer based in Margate, UK. Since 2014, she’s worked with a range of brands—from homeware and fashion to editorial—while championing sustainable, joy-driven projects that align with her values.
Outside of work, Mel is a mum to two young daughters (born in 2021 and 2024) and fills her time with painting, baking, reading, and early sunrise runs. She’s a long-time vegetarian with a love for matcha, cheese, sea animals, and adrenaline-fuelled adventures like skydiving and kitesurfing.
Creative Makers: Laura Barnes
Laura Barnes is a textile designer and illustrator based in South East London, known for her joyful, pattern-rich work that blends hand-drawn charm with bold, digital flair. Drawing inspiration from nature, travel, food, and the simple pleasures of everyday life—think sun-drenched dog walks, farmers markets, shared dinners with friends, and the scent of tomatoes on the vine—Laura creates vibrant, uplifting designs that spark happiness.
Her warm, sun-soaked colour palette is shaped by travels through India, Morocco, and Mexico, bringing a global vibrancy to her work. Combining traditional mark-making with digital techniques, her dopamine-filled designs have been featured in The Guardian, Country Living, Gardens Illustrated, and BBC Good Food.

Creative Makers: Marie Chanteur / Wobbly Studio
Wobbly Studio is an art brand and workshop based in Aspudden, Stockholm, founded and run by illustrator and ceramicist Marie Chanteur. Known for her bold, colourful aesthetic, Marie’s work celebrates the everyday, embraces imperfection, and invites us not to take life too seriously.
At Wobbly Studio, she creates joyful objects designed to brighten up our homes—whether it’s a custom ceramic piece, a vibrant print, an illustrated poster, or a playful artwork for your walls. Working primarily with ceramics and illustration, Marie draws inspiration from her deep love of handcraft in all its forms.
